Quebec is a popular immigration destination among other provinces in Canada. It has its own unique agreement on immigration. It follows a special set of rules to select immigrants who will adapt the Quebec culture very well.
Potential candidates who apply to Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) will be assessed based on some selection factors, and candidates who score adequate points will be given a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) which they can show when they apply for Canadian Permanent residency
Below are the list factors and their maximum points which can be used to evaluate the eligibility of the candidate:
To immigrate to Canada as a Quebec-selected skilled worker, Candidates must apply in 2 stages:
Candidates should apply to the Government Quebec for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). The Province of Quebec will evaluate and award the points to the candidate, using its own set of rules. In this stage, a point threshold is implemented depending on these points and single applicant need to score 50 points to be eligible and the spouse or common-law partner needs to score 59 points.
If the Province of Quebec chooses the candidate and gives a CSQ, he/she must apply to Immigration permanent residence as a Quebec Skilled worker. The Government of Quebec evaluates all the necessary documents of the candidates and their family members and issues a permanent residency visa if the candidate meets all the security check requirements.
